Limousin cattle are one of the oldest breeds in Europe. They are native to France and came to the U.S. in 1971 from Canada. Limousin cattle are a golden-red colour and are a large breed. These cattle are known as the carcass breed with a low proportion of fat and bone, and a high proportion of meat.
