9 Places Named After Food

Corn, Okla.

Corn, Okla.

German immigrants settled this town in Washita County, Okla. They named the town “Korn,” which translates to “grain” in English.

The German residents gave the town its name because the post office was located near or in a corn field.

During the First World War, due to anti-German sentiments, the townspeople changed the name from Korn to Corn.
