AALP launches alumni experience survey

Calling all leadership program graduates

Submitted by the Rural Ontario Institute

The Rural Ontario Institute has launched an Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program (AALP) alumni experience survey and is requesting participation from all graduates.

“The program has nearly 450 graduates who are active in leadership roles across the province and beyond,” says Rebecca Hannam, Manager, Communications and Fund Development, Rural Ontario Institute. “We are looking to reconnect with those who we have lost touch with and celebrate the accomplishments of this group as a whole.”

The online survey is part of an AALP Class 16 issues analysis project led by Marty Byl, Nikki Jackson, Megan Veldman and Jennifer Norrie.

While the survey is the first step the group has taken towards their goal of improving alumni engagement, Hannam says selected alumni will be asked to participate in a follow-up phone interview. “Focus groups and video interviews are potential next steps, depending on what the group learns from the survey data.”

AALP alumni are asked to participate at www.farms.com/AALPalumni before March 13, 2016. All completed surveys will be entered in a draw to win a $50 iTunes gift card.

Treating Sheep For Lice!

Video: Treating Sheep For Lice!

We are treating our sheep for lice today at Ewetopia Farms. The ewes and rams have been rubbing and scratching, plus their wool is looking patchy and ragged. Itchy sheep are usually sheep with lice. So, we ran the Suffolk and Dorset breeding groups through the chutes and treated them all. This treatment will have to be done again in two weeks to make sure any eggs that hatched are destroyed too. There was a lot of moving of sheep from pen to pen around the sheep barn but by all the hopping and skipping the sheep were doing, I think they enjoyed the day immensely! We hope you do too!
