Calgary Stampede Aggie Days

Events kick off Saturday, April 11th, 2015

Are you going to what’s being dubbed as “the greatest outdoor show on Earth”?

Do you even know what show that is?

It’s the Calgary Stampede and it’s running from July 3rd to 12th, 2015.

But well before the Calgary Stampede kicks off, there will be two days dedicated to agriculture – Aggie Days.

Aggie Days will kick off Saturday, April 11th, 2015 at Stampede Park in Calgary, Alberta.

The two-day agriculture celebration will feature many activities for visitors to get involved in, including a corn maze, livestock auctions, cow milking and the chance for children to interact with a variety of farm animals.

Saturday will feature an event called Clock, Stock and Barrel. Using only the sound of their owner’s commands, dogs will try to herd sheep into a pen in the fastest time possible.

The Calgary Stampede Extreme Cowboy Race will take over on Sunday and will give cowboys the chance to showcase their skills as they, along with their horses, try to navigate a challenging obstacle course in the fastest time they can.

Are you an educator? If so, Aggie Days has resources you can use in the classroom.

From exploring breeds, cuts and beef vocabulary to fun quizzes and games for your students, you can make learning about agriculture that much more interactive.

Join the conversation and tell us if you’re going to attend the Aggie Days celebrations at the Calgary Stampede. If so, what are you most looking forward to?
