Transform Old into New with Advanced, Efficient Planting Systems
John Deere’s Precision Upgrades portfolio offers innovative solutions for you to retrofit your existing equipment with the latest technology.
Such options are available for John Deere planters.
Those with toolbars from 2005 and newer can transform their existing planter into one more advanced and higher performing. These upgrades enhance efficiency, precision, and productivity for planting operations.
Farms.com met with Kyle Barry, John Deere’s go-to-marketing manager for precision upgrades, to discuss these options.
The upgrades start with electric meter options like the ME 5e (MaxEmerge 5e) or ExactEmerge, a high-speed meter featuring a brush belt for precision planting.
These meters can be paired with customizable downforce systems, such as Active Pneumatic or Individual Row Hydraulic Downforce (IRHD), to optimize seed placement.
Additional features include advanced closing wheels and row cleaners, which are pneumatically controlled directly from the cab, ensuring convenience and accuracy.
Customers can select preferred closing wheel options and frame distribution enhancements, including Central Tire Inflation Systems (CTIS).
For liquid fertilizer applications, John Deere offers high-rate and low-rate ExactRate systems, supporting 2x2 or in-furrow applications. The ExactShot system, one of the newest innovations, applies starter fertilizer directly onto the seed, eliminating waste from continuous streams and ensuring precise dosing.
These upgrades not only improve planting precision but also maximize productivity, making them ideal for those seeking to modernize their equipment without a complete overhaul.
John Deere’s Precision Upgrades for planters provide an opportunity for farmers to optimize planting operations, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency. Explore these advancements to transform your planting systems today.
