The 61st annual Farm Progress Show kicked off this morning in Boone, Iowa, and is expected to attract up to 100,000 visitors this year from all over the country. The show is considered to be the ‘World’s Fair’ of agriculture and offers spectators a chance to see the latest and greatest in farm equipment and machinery, specialty equipment, and new technologies for use in the barn and field.

With major exhibitors like New Holland, Deere, Case, Syngenta, Monsanto, and many more, the show has had to expand its exhibition grounds in Boone to accommodate the growth in popularity. Starting in the 1950s, the show has been a favorite with farmers for decades and continues to draw huge crowds.

The Farm Progress Show is the largest outdoor farm event held in the United States and showcases around 600 exhibitors annually. While the show has plenty of modern farm equipment like tractors and combines on display, it also offers a wide range of marketing, management and production seminars that provide farmers with valuable information to help increase production and profitability at their operations.

The event runs Tuesday, August 26, 8am to 5pm, Wednesday, August 27, 8am to 5pm, and Thursday, August 28, 8am to 4pm. Admission is $15 for adults and $8 for youths 13 – 17. The exhibition grounds are located at 1827 217th Street, Boone, IA  50036. You can visit the Farms.com booth at the Farm Progress Show in the Varied Industries Tent (booth number 9405).
