4) Preparing for the Ontario solar eclipse

Leading up to the April 8 solar eclipse in Ontario, Farms.com connected with a farmer and researchers about what they could expect to see during the event.

When an eclipse his Stuart McCall’s Garson, Ont. farm in 2017, he noticed multiple changes and expected even more drastic ones this year.

Jim Willwerth, a grapevine physiology specialist at Brock University, expected any plants that are leafed out to show tropism, where the leaves change direction because of the reductions in sunlight.
