FCC 4-H club fund supports young leaders in 2024

The recipients of the 2024 FCC 4-H Club Fund have been announced, providing vital support to 4-H clubs across Ontario. This initiative is a collaboration between Farm Credit Canada (FCC) and 4-H Canada, aimed at fostering youth development and leadership in agriculture and community activities.

“FCC has been an outstanding supporter and partner of the 4-H program for many years,” said 4-H Canada Interim CEO, Hugh Maynard. “The FCC 4-H Club Fund supports volunteers across the country as they continue to build the next generation of leaders in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. We are grateful to FCC for its continued support.”

In 2024, 51 4-H clubs in Ontario were awarded grants of up to $500 each. Since its inception in 2013, the FCC 4-H Club Fund has distributed over $1 million, supporting more than 2,100 clubs nationwide. These funds have helped 4-H clubs deliver engaging programs that nurture skills in agriculture, life sciences, and leadership.

“FCC is proud to support 4-H Canada and its programs, including through the FCC 4-H Club Fund,” said Justine Hendricks, FCC president and CEO. “4-H Canada exemplifies the character, hard work, and innovation that drives the success of Canada’s agriculture industry. We are grateful for the work 4-H does in providing exceptional programming to support the next generation of producers.”

This year, Ontario recipients include a diverse range of clubs involved in various activities, such as dairy farming, cooking, woodworking, sewing, and community arts. For instance, clubs like “Carleton Place Sewing Club,” “Forest Dairy Club,” and “Stormont Livestock” focus on hands-on learning that builds both technical and interpersonal skills.

The FCC 4-H Club Fund has played a significant role in shaping the future of agriculture and empowering youth to lead. These grants allow clubs to enhance programming and reach more young people in their communities.

Applications for the next round of FCC 4-H Club Fund grants will open in August 2025. To see the complete list of 2024 recipients or to learn more about the fund, visit 4-h-canada.ca/club-fund.
