Grain Farmers of Ontario adds Canadian sports star to its 2022 March Classic speaker lineup

Hamilton Tiger-Cats President of Football Operations and Head Coach Steinauer to provide insights on lessons learned about coaching and leadership.

Grain Farmers of Ontario has announced that the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats President of Field Operations and Head Coach Orlondo “Coach” Steinauer will be joining its 2022 March Classic speaker lineup, the popular event held annually since 2010.

Steinauer is a Canadian Football League five-time all-star, who played for the Tiger-Cats, Ottawa Rough Riders and Toronto Argonauts from 1996 to 2008, winning three championships, one each with the Tiger-Cats (1999) and the Argos (2004) as a player, and another as the defensive backs coach for Toronto in 2012. He has been in his current leadership position with the Tiger-Cats since 2019.

The Grain Farmers of Ontario is the province’s largest commodity organization representing 28,000 barley, corn, oat, soybean, and wheat farmers. Its 2022 March Classic – Sowing the Seeds of Opportunity, Innovation and Tomorrow, will take place on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at RBC Place in London, Ontario. The speakers will be live streamed for those who are unable to attend in person.

“We are tremendously excited to have two-time Grey Cup champion and Canadian Football League Hall of Famer Coach Steinauer join our incredible March Classic speaker series,” stated Victoria Berry, Communications Manager, Grain Farmers of Ontario. “Coach O’s uplifting and motivational presence will be a great addition to the in-person event and one of the many highlights we are looking forward to.”

Coach Steinauer will provide a presentation around coaching and leadership and provide insight o the lessons learned during his 20 years—and counting—in professional football.

Other events and speakers taking part in the 2022 March Classic, include:

  • The Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, leader, author, and former Member of Parliament;
  • The first Canadian live taping of The U.S. Farm Report with host Tyne Morgan;
  • Sonny Perdue, the 31st United States Secretary of Agriculture.

Berry added that Canadian comedian and the Internet’s favourite (unproven) dad, Stewart “Brittlestar” Reynolds will headline the evening banquet.

An early bird draw was held for those who registered for the 2022 March Classic event prior to January 31, 2022. The winner of the draw—a $150 tool prize pack—is Dianne Reesor.

Register before February 28 for a chance at a second early bird prize draw.

Please note that in-person attendees must be fully vaccinated and will be required to show proof of full vaccination (QR Code and government-issued identification before entering the event premises.
