Jim Robinson's new role on IPSA board
Jim Robinson, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Rob-See-Co, an independent seed company based in Elkhorn, Nebraska, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Independent Professional Seed Association (IPSA), starting in 2025. IPSA, which represents nearly 100 seed companies across more than 25 states, Canada, and Mexico, supports the production and sale of a variety of seeds including corn, soybeans, small grains, and forage. The association also includes over 100 affiliate and associate members from all areas of the seed industry. The Board of Directors plays a key role in guiding the policies and activities of the organization.
As the CTO at Rob-See-Co, Robinson has a comprehensive role, overseeing product management, licensing, supplier relationships, and pricing, among other responsibilities, as the company continues to expand. Robinson’s deep roots in the seed industry stem from his family’s involvement with the JC Robinson Seed Company, which was once the western half of Golden Harvest before being sold to Syngenta. Robinson’s career in agriculture began in 1998, when he worked in the corn nursery and developed a passion for corn breeding. This led him to pursue a degree in Genetics from Iowa State University and later a Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Diego.
In 2013, Robinson returned to the family business when Rob-See-Co was founded, contributing to product evaluation and management. His extensive experience and knowledge of the industry led to his appointment as the company’s CTO in 2021.
"I am honored to join the IPSA Board of Directors and contribute to advancing the independent seed industry,” said Jim Robinson. “I look forward to working with this talented group of leaders to support innovation, sustainability, and growth for our members and the farmers we serve."
Rob-See-Co continues to be a leader in providing high-quality seed and crop inputs, working closely with its customers to support their success and growth. For more information, visit www.robseeco.com.
