The effectiveness of fertilizer placement in the field is more important than ever.

KUHN Krause understands this, so it has paired Montag’s dual product fertilizer system with its Gladiator 1210 strip-tillage system.

Curt Davis, director of marketing and product management at KUHN Krause, recently spoke with Farms.com about some advancements in fertilizer technology.

Montag’s dual product delivery system is designed to cater to both small and large-scale farming operations, enhancing the efficiency and precision of fertilizer application, says Davis.

The Montag dry fertilizer system features a 3.5-ton capacity model suitable for smaller machinery with a 4 to 8 row capacity. This unit allows for either single or dual product delivery, making it versatile for various farming needs.

For larger setups, Montag offers units that can handle 8 to 16 rows, boasting capacities ranging from 6 to 9 tons.

These larger units can deliver single or dual products, including essential nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, and can even blend these fertilizers based on specific crop requirements.

One of the standout features of the Montag system is its capability to apply two products simultaneously and blend them seamlessly.

This is complemented by variable rate control, which permits precise application rates that adjust to varying field conditions and requirements, maximizing efficiency and reducing waste.

For farms requiring extensive coverage, Montag's twin bin units offer section control with the capacity to manage one to four sections, ideal for machines up to 16 rows.

This feature is particularly beneficial for pull-type machines that require robust support in fertilizer distribution.

Montag's innovative approach to fertilizer delivery not only promises to streamline processes but also support sustainable farming practices by ensuring that nutrients are efficiently utilized, and environmental impact is minimized.
