Advanced biologicals for better yields

A newly established company is set to provide growers with advanced and sustainable biological solutions for every stage of crop nutrition. BW Fusion, an agricultural innovator specializing in crop and soil nutrition, has merged with Biodyne, a pioneer in environmental microbiology, and Agronomy 365, a data-driven crop analytics program, to create a unified platform under the BW Fusion name. This merger formalizes a long-standing collaboration between the three organizations.

Biodyne brings over three decades of expertise in developing beneficial microbes for environmental and agricultural applications. In 2019, BW Fusion joined forces with Biodyne to focus on reducing soil contamination and enhancing plant health. With its expansion, BW Fusion integrated Agronomy 365 to provide detailed insights into soil biological activity and guide growers in making informed crop nutrient decisions.

The new platform combines Biodyne’s biological research, Agronomy 365’s advanced data tools, and BW Fusion’s expertise in product development and manufacturing. This integration ensures growers have access to everything they need, from research and quality control to actionable insights and products, all within a single company. The goal is to deliver innovative and efficient solutions to farmers.

“Our mission has always been to help growers improve crop productivity and long-term soil health,” said BW Fusion Chief Agronomist and Product Officer Jason Schley, a third-generation grower from South Dakota. “Because we farm too, we understand the importance of providing growers with the right data to make informed decisions. Through our partnership to date, it’s evident that leveraging our combined strengths supports growers with the resources they need at scale to improve farming methods and increase long-term profits.”

BW Fusion also prioritizes education, employing experienced agronomists to train growers on soil health and optimizing crop nutrition.

“The products we provide and the information we share are revolutionary and can change the way growers feed their crops,” said BW Fusion Partner Grant Wells. “We can show growers exactly what their soil and plants need, how to increase the efficiency and efficacy of crop nutrient applications, and ultimately how to increase yields.”

Bain Capital Double Impact, the impact investing division of Bain Capital, has financially supported this merger, underscoring its commitment to sustainable agriculture. Currently, BW Fusion’s products are utilized on over one million acres nationwide, and the company aims to expand its reach while contributing to environmental sustainability.
