Eight New Hybrids Added For 2025 Growing Season

Syngenta recently announced a significant expansion of its NK Seeds corn portfolio, the largest in over a decade.

This 2025 lineup addition includes eight new hybrids, reflecting the company's commitment to enhancing productivity for growers through robust, high-performing seeds.

Located in Canada, Syngenta has a long-standing history of pioneering in the seed industry, supported by a global workforce of 6,500 in research and development (R&D) and an annual R&D investment of $1.4 billion.

This substantial investment underscores their dedication to delivering tailor-made agricultural solutions that address the unique challenges of Canadian growers.

“Our steadfast commitment to investing in research and development is instrumental in grower success,” says Dan Wright, Head of Syngenta Seeds Canada. “This range of corn seed options is a testament to our scientific diligence in tailoring agricultural solutions to the unique regional needs of Canadian growers.”

To commemorate this milestone and 140 years of continuous seed sales, Syngenta hosted a special Field Day at the Arva Research and Development Innovation Centre in Southwestern Ontario.

This event gathered 130 growers and dealers, offering them an exclusive preview of the new hybrids and insights from the corn development, trait, and breeding teams.

The legacy of innovation at NK Seeds dates to 1884 with the Northrup-King Seed Company, a pioneer in commercializing biotech traits in corn.

Mark Kerry and Matt Rundle from Syngenta Seeds in Canada expressed their enthusiasm for the new NK Seeds corn portfolio.

Kerry highlighted that the updated offerings provide more reliable and high-performing corn genetics, equipped with traits that protect profits by offering insect and drought resistance, and improved standability and disease tolerance.

Rundle added that this launch is not just about offering more options and cutting-edge technology to farmers but also a continuation of Syngenta’s longstanding commitment to innovation and research in agriculture.

He emphasized that this introduction is just the beginning of further advancements that farmers can expect from Syngenta Seeds in the future.
