$10,000 IN FUNDING AVAILABLE TO CANADIAN STUDENTS WITH A PASSION FOR ORGANIC AGRICULTURE

Guelph, Ontario, – Applications for the Yorkshire Valley Farms Canadian Eco-Scholar Award are now being accepted. The deadline to submit is February 10, 2023. The Eco-Scholar Award is open to students across Canada in every province and territory and offers a total of $10,000 in funding to be granted to four students. The Award provides financial support for Canadian students in any area of study, so long as they are passionate about organic agriculture practices and how they can be a force for good in our society.

“Research and innovation play an important role in supporting a resilient and vibrant sector,” says Krysten Cooper, Director of Corporate Culture and Sustainability for Yorkshire Valley Farms. “That’s the reason for the Eco-Scholar Award program – to help students progress ideas that can help to actively shape the future of organic agriculture.”

The Eco-Scholar Award was first launched in 2004 by the Guelph Organic Conference. In partnership with Yorkshire Valley Farms, the Award has been expanded to provide a total give-away of $10,000, distributed as follows:

• One $5,000 first place award
• Two $2,000 second place awards
• One $1,000 third place award

To apply for the 2023 Eco-Scholar Award, students are asked to submit a video of up to two minutes in length in which they express the role they hope to play in the organic regenerative movement. The video format gives students a chance to tell the judging panel about themselves, how they are engaged in organics, and how they intend to use their studies and actions to progress organic regenerative practices in their communities.

The application form, including full rules and regulations, can be found at https://yorkshirevalley.com/2022-yorkshirevalley-eco-scholar-award/

Applications must be submitted by February 10, 2023.
