2019 Farm Cash Receipts Up After Three Quarters

Statistics Canada says Farm Cash Receipts for Canadian farmers totalled $47.3 billion in the first three quarters of 2019, up 4.4 per cent from the same period in 2018.
 
Receipts were up in every province except Saskatchewan and Manitoba, where we reported a drop of 2.9 per cent.
 
Livestock cash receipts rose 5.7 per cent to $19.5 billion, while crop receipts rose 2.1 per cent to $26 billion.
 
Without cannabis, which was legalized for recreational use in October 2018, crop receipts would have fallen by 2.3 per cent.
