2023 National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection Meetings to Address Equity and Food Safety

The Department of Agriculture has announced an important event for anyone concerned about meat and poultry inspection, food safety, and promoting equity. The National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection (NACMPI) is hosting a virtual meeting on June 21-22, 2023. This committee advises the Secretary of Agriculture on various matters related to meat and poultry inspection programs at both state and federal levels. 

During the meeting, the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) will present a specific charge to the Committee.

They seek input on enhancing outreach efforts to foster equity and create economic opportunities for underserved communities and individuals. This initiative aims to strengthen the food supply chain while ensuring strict compliance with food safety regulations.
