APHIS Adds Indonesia to the List of Regions Affected by African Swine Fever

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) added Indonesia to the list of regions affected by African swine fever (ASF). On December 17, 2019, the veterinary authorities of the Republic of Indonesia reported to the World Organization of Animal Health (OIE) the occurrence of ASF in that country. This confirmation of the ASF outbreak supported APHIS’ action on December 13, 2019, adding the Republic of Indonesia to the list of regions where ASF exists or is reasonably believed to exist. Pork and pork products, including casings, are now subject to import restrictions. This notice may be viewed at: https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=APHIS_FRDOC_0001-2406
