Bourgault Industries, in partnership with The Salford Group, has unveiled an innovative agricultural solution—the 130 ft³ Granular Applicator.
This product, designed for the XR851™ and XR871™ eXtended Range Harrows, is a groundbreaking addition to the agricultural equipment market, aiming to increase farm productivity substantially.
The Granular Applicator, known as the 1356, is engineered to enhance acre coverage per hour while minimizing refill times, crucial for handling herbicide-resistant weeds and applying grass or cover crops.
Available in both 90’ and 110’ harrow widths, the applicator ensures precise deployment of treatments using Salford’s advanced Valmar 56 Series metering system.
Key features of this applicator include a robust 130 ft³ steel tank accessible via a full catwalk, and a state-of-the-art hydraulic metering drive controlled through an ISO interface.
The system boasts a four-section auto sectional control and supports full-width variable rate application, demonstrating its technological sophistication.
The XR8 Series, designed to support this new applicator, features two models: the XR871 with seven rows and the XR851 with five rows. Both models are equipped with durable carbide-infused tines, tailored to maximize efficiency and longevity.
Despite its capabilities, the 1356 is specifically not recommended for fertilizer application. Standard features include a roll tarp and bin level sensors, enhancing convenience and functionality.
Set for a market launch later this summer and available for spring 2025 usage, the 1356 Granular Applicator represents a significant advancement in agricultural technology.
Farmers interested in optimizing their operations can look forward to adding this efficient tool to their machinery next year, either through factory installation or retrofitting on existing XR8 models.
This collaboration between Bourgault and The Salford Group not only reflects their commitment to agricultural innovation but also sets a new standard for granular applicators in the industry, promising a future of enhanced productivity for farmers across Canada.
