Bryan’s is 50!!

Puslinch, Ont. –Bryan’s is celebrating 50 years in business. “We’re honoured to be able to say we are a 50-year-old company. It’s been an amazing journey for Bryan's. We couldn't have gotten here without dedicated and talented staff or amazing loyal customers. We have been dealing with generations of family farms and businesses, and look forward to another 50 years of success," says Bryan’s president, Ken Lillycrop

Bryan’s was founded in 1970 by Ken’s father, Bryan Lillycrop. Bryan began selling tractors from his family’s market garden farm in Waterdown, Ont., to serve the local and rural communities in the area. Bryan’s Farm & Industrial Supply grew from these humble roots where Bryan found his passion was helping other farmers find affordable equipment. In 1972, Bryan’s held its first auction. In the early years, auctions sold mostly agricultural or farm related items. Being a huge success and popular with customers, auction frequencies slowly increased and became regular events. The rest truly is history.

Although Bryan is now retired, the company remains in the family with Bryan’s son Ken Lillycrop, at the helm. Bryan’s has also grown to become an online auction powerhouse with expertise in remarketing surplus equipment from the municipal, construction and agriculture sectors.

In addition to the auction location in Puslinch, Ont., the company recently expanded to the Quinte West, Ont. region with a 20,000 sq. ft. indoor facility in Trenton sitting on six acres of fenced, secured land. The head office location in Puslinch, Ont., is on 30 acres of secured land and has 80,000 sq. ft. of indoor auction space where equipment is safely housed until each monthly auction.

But Bryan’s isn’t just about auctions. The company also continues to offer a comprehensive range of services to its customers, including:
  • Transportation and logistics across Canada and the U.S.
  • Used retail farm equipment sales
  • A fully-stocked parts department to handle any equipment repair or replacement needs.
Founder, Bryan Lillycrop summarizes best what the company is about. “I grew up on a small farm and was taught that a man’s word should be something to count on. At Bryan’s we have always operated on the simple belief that if we do what we say we will do, be of strong character, and true to our word then things will work out in the end. I have insisted that my family and employees follow my principals. The result is the business you see today. Thank you all for a lifetime of memories.”

So what is Bryan’s doing to celebrate the BIG 5-0? The events in the works are all about the community, because there wouldn’t be a Bryan’s without customers and consigners. Look for some exciting contests and giveaways throughout the year, charity events, a vintage car and tractor show on May 21st at the Puslinch location.
