Canada's Farm Show set to go in June

Canada's Farm Show is back with an in-person event for 2022.

Regina Exhibition Association Ltd. President and CEO Tim Reid says they're excited to be back.

"We're going to be celebrating the 44th year of Canada's Farm Show right here in Regina, Saskatchewan. We are so thrilled to be talking about coming back together, and having an in person Farm Show. We waited a long time for year number 44, and it's going to be great."

Reid says tickets for the show are now available, with attendee's able to purchase a 3-day advance show pass for $15.

For 2022, Canada's Farm Show runs June 21-23 with a new Tuesday to Thursday format.

Reid says the change was based on exhibitor feedback, they were wanting to see if there was a way to have the show during the week, to minimize expenses and time away from family.

He says this year's show is also moving indoors, adding they've seen a strong response from exhibitors, with virtually all the exhibitors from the 2018-2019 show coming back.

This year’s show will feature the AgTech Accelerator Demo Day, and the 24-Hour Ag Tech Challenge powered by Cultivator.

The Launch Pad which debuted last year during the virtual event is being added to the in-person show.

Reid acknowledges that some international visitors may not be able to attend in person, and as a result they've also decided to continue with the virtual Launch Pad as well.

The 2022 Farm Show also features the Empowering Women’s Conference, VIP Farmer Program, and the Innovation Program.

Organizers have announced three of the keynote speakers for the show:

 - Parag Garg the Chief Digital Officer at CNH Industrial will talk about autonomy in agriculture.

 - Karen Proud, President and CEO of Fertilizer Canada will focus in on the fertilizer industry.

 - Vikram Vij is a former dragon on CBC’s Dragon’s Den, celebrity chef, and entrepreneur and is one of the featured speakers, as well as a judge for the 24-Hour Ag Tech Challenge.

2022 marks the show's 44th Anniversary and the 15th consecutive year that Viterra has been a presenting sponsor.

Another highlight for Canada's Farm Show this year will be the Professional Bull Riding Regina Classic on Wednesday, June 22.

Reid says he's excited to welcome everyone back, from exhibitors to attendees.

"After what we’ve all come through with the pandemic, gathering as an agriculture community to share ideas and innovations is more important than ever."
