Canadian Farmers are Adapting to New Climate
By Pam Knox

Canadian farmers deal with a lot of variable and sometimes harsh weather conditions. Over time, they are being challenged in new ways as the climate gets warmer but also more variable in rainfall. At the same time, they have to deal with big cold outbreaks like the ones they have seen this week. The farmers are having to deal with all of these conditions as they plan their crops, plant them, and then harvest them in fall. Since farmers are adaptable folk, they are finding new ways to deal with this warmer and more variable climate, including planting different varieties and even different crops. This article from Alberta Farm Express describes some of the changes that producers are making, and how they are helping to solve the problem of changing climate by changing the way they farm.
