Corn Harvest Quality Report Rollouts Taking Place Around The Globe

For the past 13 years, the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) has released its Corn Harvest Quality Report. The report helps international buyers of U.S. corn better understand the initial quality of U.S. corn as it enters the merchandising channel.

The 2023 U.S. corn crop proved to be the largest on record with the lowest percentage of broken corn and foreign material (BCFM) to date.

Following the release of the yearly report, the Council’s offices around the world gather buyers in each of the regions the Council operates in to offer clear expectations regarding the quality of corn for this marketing year. During these events, crop quality information is accompanied by updates on U.S. corn grading and handling, which provides importers and end-users with a better understanding of how U.S. corn is moved and controlled through export channels.

The Council’s offices in China and India have held events so far, with others coming up in the 2024 calendar year. The remaining events include:

– Japan and Taiwan – Jan. 10-12, 2024

– Southeast Asia and Oceania – Jan. 16, 2024

– South Korea – Jan. 17, 2024

– Latin America and Mexico – Jan. 17-20, 2024

– Europe, Middle East and Africa – Jan. 23-26, 2024

“It has been said that ‘Sharing knowledge strengthens relationships,’ and that’s precisely what we intended to do when we showcased the 2023/2024 Corn Harvest Quality Report to our top market for U.S. agriculture exports last month in China,” said Manuel Sanchez, USGC director in China.

“We shared this year’s report with our coarse grains customers in China to provide reliable and timely information about the quality of the U.S. corn crop to assist buyers of U.S. corn in making a well-informed buying decision throughout the 2023/24 corn marketing year. No other corn export market globally puts together such a comprehensive summary of its annual corn harvest quality, and this is just one example of how we strive to strengthen our relationship with our top customers around the globe each year.”

Follow along with the Council on social media as the events take place in the next few weeks.
