Northeast SARE offers opportunities for farmers in the Northeast to network, share new ideas and has a robust grant program to try out new concepts all in the name of sustainability. Applications are currently being accepted for Farmer Grants and are due by November 15 at 5pm EST.
How much is available?
Large projects may apply for as much as $30,000. The funding is proposed to assist farmers with new concepts in sustainable agriculture conducted through experiments, surveys, prototypes, on-farm demonstrations, or other research and education techniques. All projects should address issues that affect farming with long-term sustainability in mind.

Who is eligible?
To be eligible, farmers must meet the U.S. Census of Agriculture definition of a Farm: "Any place from which $1,000 or more of agricultural products were produced and sold, or normally would have been sold, during the census year." For more information see, "Northeast SARE's Definition of Farm".
