The JBS beef plant in Grand Island recently decided to raise its base salaries. The total payroll will increase from $150 million to $180 million. Human Resources Director at JBS, Justin Bstanding says the move will help the Grand Island community.
“At JBS, we are committed to being a good neighbor and a responsible employer in the community by recently moving our base pay to $21.50 an hour, with the ability to earn up to $28.00 an hour in our production environment,” Bstanding said.
Previously, a beginning wage at the plant was $18.25 per hour, with the highest wage reaching $27.95 per hour.
Additionally, $25.50 per hour is the new starting wage in the maintenance department. The department’s employees can advance up to $32.50 per hour.
