Fall and spring interns should expect 15 hours per week, and the summer internship is full-time. Fall tasks include writing magazine articles and planning the Swine Institute. Young adults who have not yet completed two years of postsecondary education qualify for the 2020 Youth Pork Ambassador Program. Ambassadors receive a $1,000 scholarship and attend six events throughout the year, including Taste of Elegance and the University of Missouri Pork Institute.

Pork Ambassador applicants must be a high school senior up to a sophomore in college as of January 1st of the year they become ambassadors. An application and three letters of recommendation are due Dec. 13, 2019, and more information can be found by contacting Diane Slater, MPA director of communications, at diane@mopork.com

In addition to internship and ambassador positions, MPA is also offering a $2,500 scholarship for a student pursuing a career in a swine-related field.
