Nominations open for Agriculture Hall of Fame 2022

The award honours those who have significantly contributed to agriculture, the agri-food industry and rural life in Alberta.

“Every 2 years, Alberta’s Agriculture Hall of Fame recognizes up to 3 individuals whose outstanding leadership, innovation and business practices have advanced Alberta’s agriculture and food industry at the provincial level or beyond,” says Susan Lacombe, program coordinator with the Hall of Fame.

“New this year, we’ve made it easier to nominate someone who has been previously nominated. It is as simple as filling out a one-page update and submitting that form. All nomination packages will be held for 6 years.”

Since 1951, the Hall of Fame has celebrated the accomplishments of men and women who have dedicated their lives to agriculture and their rural communities. The 138 inductees have been innovators and risk takers in every area of agriculture. Those have ranged from groundbreaking farming techniques to scientific accomplishments, creating value-added products and other outstanding contributions that have had a lasting, positive impact on agriculture and rural Alberta.

Nomination forms and more information about the Hall of Fame can be found on the Alberta Agriculture Hall Fame webpage or by calling 780-968-6557.

The deadline for nominations is May 6, 2022.
