Agriculture can be an extremely challenging business, reliant on everything from the weather, to the markets, both of which are out of their control.
Farmers and ranchers are being encouraged to take part in a special phone series, every Wednesday, during the month of March.
Ronda Wedhorn, the Program Co-ordinator for Seniors Without Walls Saskatchewan says farming and ranching can be a real high stress occupation.
"Studies tell us that farmers and ranchers are looking for programs that are suited to their unique lifestyles, but not only suited to their lifestyle but that presenters are agriculture knowledgeable. So our speakers that we have coming up in March all have a connection to agriculture."
She says the "Put the coffee on speaker series" is free and brings farmers, ranchers and seniors together via the phone .... like the old party line system to talk about a variety of ag related and mental health topics.
"Talking about helpful topics including Dealing with stress as a Farmer, Women in Agriculture Families, Coping with Loss and Grief, Understanding Brain Health, and Sense of Self. I think it'll be a great presentation for people, farmers and ranchers to join in and have a listen."
She says with it being available on the phone producers can put their cell on handsfree and tune into it on in the shop, car or wherever and take part.
This week's presenter (Wednesday, March 2) is Golden West Feature Personality Rob Carnie who will talk about his experiences as a radio personality, sports commentor and agriculture reporter.
