Spinner Spreader with Dual-Bin Versatility
Salford Group’s SS400+ chassis-mounted spinner spreader is designed to meet the needs of modern farmers.
This unit efficiently applies both fertilizer and lime, with single-product and dual-product spreading capabilities.
Gavin Held, application product manager with Salford Group, met with Farms.com to provide details on this dual-bin spinner spreader.
On the fertilizer application side, the SS400+ has 12-section control and up to a 120-foot spread width. It also has 420 cubic feet of capacity in the single bin configuration.
“This unit can carry a lot of product and cover a lot of acres in a short amount of time,”
adds Held.
A dual-bin configuration option further enhances versatility. Farmers can choose between single-product or dual-product spreading, providing flexibility to address diverse agricultural requirements.
The SS400+ conveniently converts for lime applications by switching to a single-bin setup, emphasizing the unit’s adaptability for multiple uses.
“The main goals of this machine are efficiency, productivity, as well as simplicity. The unit is a very simple machine to operate,” says Held.
Simplified controls minimize downtime, making it user-friendly and easy to operate, even for less experienced users.
The unit also stands out for its large storage capacity, holding up to 420 cubic feet of fertilizer in a single bin. This substantial capacity reduces the frequency of refills, improving overall operational efficiency.
Such a design is particularly beneficial for large-scale commercial farming, where extensive acreage requires significant amounts of product spread evenly and rapidly.
Easy-to-use controls and fewer components contribute to minimal downtime, reducing maintenance and maximizing productivity in the field.
Overall, the SS400+ spinner spreader emphasizes productivity, ease of use, and reliability. Its straightforward design ensures low maintenance and increased uptime, supporting efficient and hassle-free operation.
