Topigs Norsvin appoints new CEO

Dick Hordijk steps into the top position with the swine genetics company.

Topigs Norsvin, a global swine genetics company, has appointed Dick Hordijk as its new Chief Executive Officer.

He will make up the Board of Directors of Topigs Norsvin alongside the current directors, Pieter van Sundert, the Chief Financial Officer, and Hans Olijslagers, the Chief Technology Officer.

From the Netherlands, Hordijk will start in his new position as of March 31, 2025, filling the vacancy there.

Until January 1, 2025, Hordijk remains the Chief Executive Officer of Royal Agrifirm Group, a Dutch farmer-owned operative that develops and sells agricultural, feed, and specialty solutions across the globe. Earlier in his career, he held various management and executive positions at Cargill, mostly on the international business side of the company. He has a master’s degree in Business Econometrics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a post-master’s certificate in Financial Controlling at VU Amsterdam.

Mark Tijssen, the Chairman of the supervisory board, stated, ‘’We are very pleased with the appointment of Dick. He brings not only considerable know-how in agriculture, but he also has extensive international experience and brings valued-added knowledge to our sustainability agenda.’’

About his new position, Hordijk offered, “I am fortunate that after eight beautiful years at Agrifirm, I can continue to work for a farmer-owned organization and contribute to the success of the most innovative pig genetic company. Topigs Norsvin is well-known to me, and I look forward to working with all of the company’s talented people around the world.”
