Two Sets of Triplet Calves Born at Oberle Farms Shaunavon

Google says that there is a 1 in 100,000 chance of a cow delivering triplets.

Oberle Farms located eight miles east of Shaunavon has beat the odds there, with two of their Charolais cows delivering triplets within a week of each other.

The first delivery happened on  January 20 from a three year old cow, followed on the morning of January 27 with an eight year old Charolais delivering another set of triplets.

Kelly Oberle says it's very rare that triplets happen. "We get 40 to 45 sets of twins a year cause we calve so many numbers of cows. That's not un-common. But, these triplets were really un-common. If someone would have every said that we would get two in a week, let alone two in the same year, I'd have said no way. This is kind of really bizarre."

Oberle says that all the calves and both moms are doing well.
