Irish beef producers blocked roads and meat processors with tractors in November and December 2019 to show frustration with the government and beef prices.
At the time, Irish beef producers received about US$94 per animal. This figure was about US$212 less than their British counterparts.
ABP Food Group, one of the country’s largest meat processing companies, provided producers with a price increase of five cents per kilogram following the demonstrations.
