
In June, Premier Doug Ford and then Labour Minister Monte McNaughton, along with the Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada, announced a $1.3 million investment to provide 54 recipients with free truck training.
The Bridging the Gap in Trucking program includes up to 200 hours of training needed to receive AZ or DZ licenses.
The Canadian Trucking Alliance estimates the industry will have about 55,000 job vacancies by 2024.
