First 10 women inducted into Cdn. ag halls of fame

Dale Dewar

Dewar became the first woman from Prince Edward Island inducted into the Atlantic Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2015. Dewar participated in 4-H as a student and then transition into leadership roles. She held the position of 4-H worker with the Department of Agriculture and educated young people about ag. She eventually became the director of Rural Development in PEI. In 1986, Dewar was appointed deputy minister of agriculture. Later, she was appointed as the senior policy advisor to federal minister Lawrence MacAulay.
