Massey Ferguson’s SB.1436DB Produces Two Rows of Bales Per Field Pass

Have you ever seen a small square baler that simultaneously creates two bales?

Well, you can now.

Massey Ferguson has introduced the SB.1436DB, a highly efficient double baler designed to enhance productivity and bale quality. This machine is equipped with innovative features that improve efficiency, precision, and ease of use.

Jessica Williamson, marketing manager with Massey Ferguson, recently met with Farms.com to unveil this new innovation.

The SB.1436DB produces two 14 by 18 small square bales while featuring a wide 105-inch pickup. This width matches that of large square balers, allowing for larger windrows and increased throughput.

The baler channels hay into a single chamber where a splitting knife divides each bale into two. This unique design ensures uniform bale production.

One of the key features of the SB.1436DB is its independent knotter trip system. This system ties each bale separately, preventing inconsistencies caused by uneven crop flow.

“These bales are formed simultaneously, side by side—it's going to tie them independently of one another so if we have an inconsistent crop feed into the chamber it's only going to tie the bale that's ready to be tied at the specified length,” says Williamson.

The baler is equipped with the SimplEbale system, standard on all 1436 models. This system provides detailed insights such as flake size, flake count, moisture levels, and bale weight, allowing farmers to fine-tune their baling process.

Another notable feature is the baler’s high twine capacity. The baler holds 10 balls of twine on each side, doubling the twine storage compared to other small square balers.

Designed for reliability and efficiency, the Massey Ferguson 1436DB helps farmers achieve higher output with better control.
