Cotton Incorporated is set to host a series of basic and intermediate workshops in Memphis, Tenn., Maricopa, Ariz., and Lubbock, Texas. The seminar will address how to use market-based strategies to manage price risk for the 2015 crop season, as well as market outlook discussions.
Topics of discussion for the seminars include: why options on cotton futures are critical to your business; what and how options can work for you; and, how to use actionable hedging strategies based on various price scenarios.
The Memphis seminar will be held at The Peabody Hotel on February 10th. The session will feature guest speaker Ed Jernigan, President and CEO of Jernigan Global Commodities. Dr. O. A. Cleveland and Jaral Neeper, president of Calcot, Ltd., will give market updates. Dr. John Robinson will discuss when and how to use a variety of option strategies involving puts, calls and spreads. Former president of the New York Cotton Exchange, Joe O'Neil will lead the discussion.
The Maricopa seminar will be held at the University of Arizona's Maricopa Ag Center, 37860 W. Smith-Enke Rd., Maricopa, AZ on February 24.
In Lubbock, the workshop will be held on April 8 at the Overton Hotel, 2322 Mac Davis Ln, Lubbock, TX.
