Deal Reached At Cargill's High River Beef Plant

Employees at Cargill's beef processing plant in High River, Alberta, have voted 71 per cent in favour of the company's latest contract offer, avoiding strike action and a possible lockout.

Cargill and the union had been at odds for some time over issues related to wages as well as health and safety.

Last month workers voted 98 per cent against Cargill's previous offer.
