European Commission grants grain import approval for Syngenta Agrisure Duracade® corn trait

Guelph, Ontario, Canada

Syngenta announced today it has received import approval for the Agrisure Duracade® trait (event 5307) from the European Commission.

The trait features a unique mode of action that controls corn rootworm (CRW) differently than other traits on the market. In research trials, Agrisure Duracade has demonstrated a very high level of efficacy in controlling CRW.

“This trait approval is an important milestone demonstrating our commitment to bring new, innovative technologies to help growers protect and maximize their yield,” said David Hollinrake, president of Syngenta Seeds, North America. “The Agrisure Duracade trait gives a new trait rotational option for CRW management for a healthier corn crop and higher yield potential.”

The approval covers corn grain and its derived products for food and feed use within the countries of the European Union (EU).
