Grant funding for Alberta producers

Launched on April 3, 2023, the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) is a 5-year investment of $508 million, cost shared by the governments of Canada and Alberta, towards strategic programs and services for the agriculture and agri-food industry in Alberta.

The Sustainable CAP agreement is helping boost job growth and adding value to the province’s agriculture sector.

“Alberta producers, processors and organizations who are looking to secure funding for an upcoming project through Sustainable CAP should be mindful of where they are getting information,” says Laureen Kennedy, director of the Alberta CAP Secretariat.

Neither Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation nor its partners charge a fee to connect applicants to grants. Be cautious of external grant sites charging a fee to access Sustainable CAP programs and services. All information about the programs, eligibility and application intake windows for the suite of Sustainable CAP grants is available free of charge and can be found online.

Fraud takes on many forms and can be damaging to consumers. In this province, consumer protection laws protect Albertans from unfair practices. If you or someone you know believes you have been subject to a grant-related scam, please call 310-FARM (3276) or email s-cap.alberta@gov.ab.ca.
