Keystone Agricultural Producers (KAP) President Bill Campbell is looking forward to turning the page on 2021.
In his year-end interview, Campbell talked about a few highlights from the past year.
"I encourage producers if they're having concerns about their inventory of feed to get ahold of Hay West. That's a very, very positive message, the collaboration between the East and the West and producers in Eastern Canada that have access hay to be able to transport it. That's been the significant hold up, the transportation, but it looks like that's going to be covered."
Campbell commented on some other positives.
"We've had some movement on BRM's. We had the removal of the reference margin limit, which is significant. We had the announcement of the AgriRecovery programs and some changes to MASC to be able to deal with our crop inventories and production this year," he said. "We had changes in the federal government's railway crossings and establishing a low grade crossing regulation and that impacted farmers."
Four main ares of focus for KAP heading into 2022 will be Business Risk Management programs, environmental stewardship, economic development, and public trust.
