Michigan Wheat Growers Meeting Planned March 11

Michigan wheat growers are encouraged to attend the Michigan Wheat Program’s annual meeting to discuss wheat production and industry issues.
 
Wheat production and industry issues will be the focus of the Michigan Wheat Program’s third annual meeting. The event will take place Wednesday, March 11, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth, Michigan, 1 Covered Bridge Ln, Frankenmuth, MI 48734.
 
The featured presenter will be Peter Johnson, a wheat expert formerly with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Johnson has decades of practical experience identifying sound wheat production practices that are both profitable and environmentally sound. In addition, national figures will discuss current farm policy issues and millers will share their perspectives of the industry.

Credits toward RUP (restricted-use pesticide) and CCA (Certified Crop Advisor) recertification programs will be offered. Those choosing to attend can complete an online registration form found on the organization’s website or call 1-888-943-2801.
