Union Says Multiple Cases Of COVID-19 Identified At Maple Leaf Foods In Brandon

The union which represents Maple Leaf Foods employees in Brandon is calling on the company to cease production until Monday, August 10 at the earliest due to multiple positive cases of COVID-19 identified among non-production unionized employees.
 
As of Thursday morning, there were four positive cases identified.
 
UFCW Local 832 President Jeff Traeger says the union wants the plant closed until more results from the outstanding tests are known.
 
The union represents nearly 2,000 members working at the Brandon pork processing plant.
