Free USDA Virtual Session for New Farmers

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is hosting a free virtual webinar on April 22, 2025, from 12:00 to 1:30 PM EDT. This informative session will focus on a range of USDA programs and services available to support farmers—especially beginning farmers and ranchers.

During the webinar, experts will present details about farm loans, risk management tools, disaster assistance, and conservation programs. These programs play an essential role in helping new farmers establish their operations and handle risks effectively.

Special provisions are also available for beginning farmers. These include targeted loan funding, conservation support, and special waivers or exemptions to help them access assistance more easily. These resources can significantly ease the challenges that often come with starting a farm or ranch.

The webinar is free to attend, but pre-registration is required. All registered participants will receive a recording of the session afterward, making it easier to revisit key information or share it with others.

If you need accommodations to participate, please contact Lynnette Wright at (315) 477-6309 or email lynnette.wright@usda.gov at least two days before the event. To register, contact Chris Deets, Outreach Coordinator, at (315) 427-9779 or via email at christopher.deets@usda.gov
