You are Invited to Organic Research Priority Setting Discussions

Organic Council of Ontario

What do you want the organic sector's research to be focused on over the next five years? The Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada and the Organic Federation of Canada want to hear your opinion in a discussion of the research priorities for the next national Organic Science Cluster Program, which will run from April 2023 to March 2028.

This research will have a major impact on shaping the growth of sustainable agriculture in Canada since its goal will be to address the specific challenges of organic production. The best way to reach this goal is by ensuring the priorities accurately reflect the interests and concerns of the organic farming community.

At the Organic Council of Ontario, we serve as the voice of organic growers across Ontario and we want to represent your interests. If you are unable to attend a session that you'd like to contribute to, please send your priories to Carolyn at carolyn@organiccouncil.ca and we will make sure they are represented.

Three Priorities Have Already Been Chosen For The Next Cluster:

1. Climate Change & Environment,
2. Economic Growth, and
3. Resilience

1.5 hour open meetings will be held to discuss the research priorities. Please register for the meetings in advance if you wish to receive updates and documents to prepare for the meeting. You can also visit the OSC4 website for updates and more details.

Video: In the Field Update - Harvest Progress

Earlier this week we caught up with Dave Merrell. Dave is a crop producer near St. Edward, Nebraska. He was kind enough to invite our crew out to his place and give us an update on how things are going in his neck of the woods.
