Ipswich Town, who currently play in League One, the third tier of English soccer, are named the “Tractor Boys.”
It’s believed fans of Leeds United gave the team that nickname in 2000 during a game where Ipswich was winning 2-1.
The story is Leeds fans began chanting “We’re being beaten by a bunch of tractor drivers.”
Rather than being offended by the name, Ipswich fans embraced the name and have used it ever since.
