The Dandy House is considered one of the most famous haunted houses in the U.S. In the 1970s, James Link and his family moved into the farmhouse in Hinsdale, New York.
After the family was settled, they experienced a series of strange events, including hearing strange chants, seeing chimney bricks removed by invisible hands and on one occasion, spotting a male sitting on the end of a bed wearing a plaid shirt and holding a rifle.
Priests performed exorcisms on more than one occasion, but the spirits still remained in the house.
The Dandy House experiences were used as a subject in the 2013 movie, The Conjuring.
