Manitoba Ag Days To Charge Admission For First Time In 45-Year History

Manitoba Ag Days will be moving to a ticketed admission system for the 2022 show, the first time in the event's 45-year history.

Tickets will be $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Youth (17 and under) will be free of charge.

The event will be taking place January 18th to the 20th at the Keystone Centre in Brandon.

General Manager Kristen Phillips commented on the decision to charge an admission fee.

"For a long time, we've been interviewing exhibitors and patrons alike to see if there was a desire to have admission. We're often told we should be. The poll was always coming back right around that 50 per cent. This year, just to make our budgets work, it makes sense to have an admission fee. It's more than just a piece of paper. It is security, it is people who work the different doors, keeping the Keystone Centre safe for all that are attending. The double vaccination clause, all those things add additional expenses to the show and so in order to create a balanced budget, we had to more forward with an admission fee."

Phillips says it will be great to have the industry meeting together again in one place.

"I think we're most looking forward to bringing everyone back together, that opportunity to share what's happening in the industry, what's new, what's coming. Talk about the 2021 season and what's happening in 2022...It's time for our industry to join together and to be in one place where we can share."

Phillips notes they have over 450 exhibitors this year and 33 speakers booked for the 2022 show. The Innovation Showcase will feature 32 new innovations.
