At the beginning of July 2015, John Deere announced updates to its Gator lineup with the introduction of the RSX860i model. The John Deere RSX860i is the 2016 edition of the RSX850i high performance utility vehicle, which has been enhanced according to user feedback.

“Every adjustment and addition made to the RSX860i comes as result of our team actively listening to customer feedback,” said Mark Davey, John Deere marketing manager of Gator utility vehicles.

In honor of the updated RSX860i, let’s take a look at some of the key features that put it in the conversation as one of the best utility vehicles on the market.

Factory Installed Packages

The John Deere RSX860i is available with a factory installed package, which includes power steering sport seats and FOX monotube shocks. A WARN 3500 ProVantage winch, pre-runner bumper and cargo box rails are also included in the package.

Winch-ready Chassis

The RSX860i has reduced winch install time, thanks to its winch-ready chassis (two of the chassis come pre-wired for a winch). Additionally, all power steering models have the winch-ready chassis.

Independent Suspension

Four-wheel independent suspension on the John Deere RSX860i makes it easy to ride over challenging terrain. The sport-tuned suspension system provides optimal comfort for the operator, and handling is a breeze. Top Speeds The John Deere RSX860i can reach speeds of 60 mph, thanks to its V-twin, four-cycle motorcycle gas engine. It creates 62 horsepower and 59.5 lb-ft of torque, and it comes with advanced electronic controls for superb response.

Enhanced Power Steering

The vehicle has rack and pinion steering with optional power steering, which provide optimal handling on any terrain. It also has a dual A-arm front suspension, in addition to responsive steering with little effort.

Extreme Maneuverability

The John Deere RSX860i has bump steering that defines the change in the forward steering angle. Additionally, it offers a tight turn radius of 12.3 feet, as well as shaft U-joints for a smooth motion of the steering wheel.

One-Piece Cargo Box

A large, extra-durable cargo box composed of a high-density polyethylene copolymer composite material is ready to take on any load. As a result, it resists rust, dents and reduces noise. It has rounded inside corners, and it’s highly ribbed.

Tailgate Versatility

The John Deere RSX860i includes a removable tailgate and lanyards, making it a utility vehicle that can transform into anything you need it to be. The tailgate’s pivot point is also made of steel for extra durability, and it’s designed to be removed without the use of tools.

Extended Warranty

Customers who purchase the John Deere RSX860i have the option of a 12-month or 1,000-hour warranty. In turn, owners can be sure that they’ll always have a working utility vehicle on hand when they need it most.

Whether you’re looking for a John Deere Gator for work or play, the RSX860i has been enhanced to take on all of your needs.

Canada's Agriculture Day 2025

Video: Canada's Agriculture Day 2025

Let's celebrate Canadian agriculture.

Well, number one, you don't eat without farmers. Farmers put food on the table. And what could be more important than that?

Well, I think it's important that Canadians understand exactly what takes place, what happens to produce this food, no matter what sector you're talking about.

An awful lot of work goes into that. It's important to understand that meat does not come out of a showcase, and milk does not come out of a bottle. It's produced by farmers and hard work.

Canada has the best farmers in the world. And agriculture is vital to Canada.

In 2024, our agriculture and agri-food sector represented $150 billion of Canada's GDP, nearly $100 billion of our exports, and one in nine jobs.

From grains to fruits to dairy and beef, we are truly blessed with an incredible bounty. Having spent my whole life in agriculture, I see so much potential for the sector.

This time last year, I was proud to open our first-ever agriculture and trade office in the Indo-Pacific, the world’s fastest-growing economy, to cement our presence in the region and grow our exports even more. We've also been making historic investments to help our farmers to boost their yields, protect the planet, and earn a fair living.

The world wants more top-quality, sustainable food, and I know our Canadian farmers can deliver. And it's so important that you do that with pride. We need you.

Quite simply, you eat the most top quality food in the world. You do that because of the quality of farmers and ranchers you have in this country.

Just say thank you to a farmer or a rancher. They work very hard, yes, for a living, but also with a sense of pride in what they produce.

That's what Canada's Agriculture Day is all about.
