We are selling a professionally built vertical container farm. Our unit was built by Freight Farms out of Boston, Massachusetts in 2023, and we took delivery of it 10/2023. Detailed information on Freight Farms the company, and the container farms they manufacture, can be found here: https://www.freightfarms.com/greenery-s but an overview of the capabilities of our 2023 Greenery S will be detailed below:
The Freight Farms Greenery S is a repurposed, insulated shipping container that measures 40x10 feet. A professionally built and installed vertical hydroponics system fills out the interior, allowing hundreds of varieties of lettuce, herbs, and vegetables to be grown indoors through all seasons of the year regardless of weather. An automation software runs in tandem with the unit giving the operator 24/7 remote access to the farm, and taking the guesswork out of water cycles, light intensity, and nutrient dosing. Recipes and growing conditions can be recorded and replicated repeatedly allowing for highly consistent weekly harvests.
Crop output is contingent upon variety and recipe, but our Greenery S is capable of growing 990 heads of lettuce per week (if mono-cropped), or 2,200 individual basil plants per week (mono-cropped). This amounts to 3-4 acres worth of produce production over the course of year that is contained within 400 square feet on an outdoor lot. All of this can be completed with less than 7 gallons of water a day.
Our unit will be sold with the following:
- $1,000 store credit to Farmhand. This will cover essential nutrients, water additives, and growing supplies
- Several months worth of growing supplies including plugs, nutrients, plant safe cleaner, ph balancers, and a very large variety of seeds.
- Onsite help with setup and initial crop seeding from one of the current co-owners (Blake)
We are more than happy to answer any questions, discuss use cases, or share our experience in running the farm.
