The Millennium Seed Bank in Wakehurst, England contains more than 85,800 seed collections, representing over 38,500 species of plants. The bank’s inventory totals about two billion total seeds. More than 130 countries have supplied the seed bank with samples. Kew, the seed bank’s operators, have set a goal to house seeds from 25 percent of the world’s bankable plants by 2020.
