New cohort of entrepreneurs from Canada and the UK join Cultivator’s intensive program to scale cutting-edge AgTech solutions
From London, England to Western Canada, a fresh wave of startup founders have entered a high-powered, three-month accelerator program—armed with funding, expert mentorship, and game-changing connections to take their businesses to the next level.
Cultivator, powered by Conexus, introduced Cohort 4 of the AgTech Accelerator at Canada’s Farm Show during "Innovation Day."
“Based in Saskatchewan and connected globally, this program leverages the natural strengths of Saskatchewan’s agricultural ecosystems to help founders build out their agriculture innovation in a way that will add value to producers,” said Director of Cultivator Laura Mock. “Founders and farmers are at the heart of everything we do with the accelerator."
Over three cohorts, Cultivator has supported 47 AgTech startups, leading to:
“This program will help connect AgScouter with agtech experts and expand our network,” said Sharko. “We are excited to showcase what our company has done and what we have planned for customers looking to digitize their field management.”
Through a global collaboration with Innovate UK, five UK-based AgTech companies will also join the program as part of the Innovate UK Global Incubator Programme, further enhancing international agricultural innovation.
The Canadian startups in the cohort focus on diverse AgTech solutions, such as precision agronomy, equipment diagnostics, poultry processing, organic fertilizers, farm input optimization, crop disease monitoring, and drone technology. UK-based startups bring expertise in herd monitoring, livestock efficiency, nitrogen analysis, and sustainable pest management.
In addition to supporting startups, Cultivator aims to help Saskatchewan companies achieve $1 million in annual recurring revenue, with a long-term goal of fostering 35 companies by 2030 and 250 by 2050.
Furthermore, Conexus has introduced the $100 million Ag Grow Fund to assist Saskatchewan agricultural producers with financing options, including lower interest rates, no application fees, and no age restrictions.
